Bactroban Drug Uses
Bactroban is an antibacterial and is indicated for treatment of skin infections. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Bactroban Taken
Before applying Bactroban wash and completely dry the affected area. Apply a small amount of medicine to the area to be treated. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. The affected area may be covered with gauze or a bandage. To clear up your infection completely, continue using Bactroban for the full course of treatment even if you feel better in a few days. Wash your hands immediately after using Bactroban .
Warnings/Precautions
Before taking Bactroban , tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances, if you are treating a burn or open wound or if you have kidney problems, if you are planning to become pregnant or are breast–feeding. If you become pregnant, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Bactroban during pregnancy. It is unknown if Bactroban is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast–feeding while you are using Bactroban , check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. Some medicines may interact with Bactroban . Therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. Bactroban is for external use only. Avoid getting Bactroban in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Bactroban should be used with caution on skin with open wounds. If your symptoms do not improve within 3–5 days or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Use Bactroban for the full course of treatment. Long–term or repeated use of Bactroban may cause a second infection. Your doctor may want to change your medicine to treat the second infection. Contact your doctor if signs of a second infection occur. Bactroban should be used with extreme caution in children younger than 3 months of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.
Bactroban Missed Dose
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the

Store Bactroban at or below 77 °F (25 °C). Do not freeze. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Bactroban out of the reach of children.
Bactroban Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately.
